Race To Mackinac
World's longest freshwater sailboat race!!!
The boat; Larry's gorgeous Swan 48, SO FAR
All the boats had to parade past NAVY PIER. . .
Ian takes the helm at the start, Will trims and Roland looks cool!!
Motoring out of the basin; Larry on the helm, Roddy hanging out, Sarah and Roland engaged in deep, meaningful conversation whilst Henry (Hank) studies his navaguesser info.
Just a few of the boats involved in prerace manuevers!
Hey Bill, did you say you need
another
piece of CHEESECAKE??  Larry, you can be our server anytime!!!
You can't read the repeaters from this picture now, but we're making 8 plus knots!!
Not too shabby.  Later in the day Larry maxed us out at 10.4 knots; course it helps when it's blowing 20+ knots!!!
Honey, I have to work late again tonight, don't wait up. . .
These new flat screen TV's are great, but the satellite dish keeps losing the signal.
Anybody seen Dave???
Geez, Larry was grinding so fast the camera was shaking!!!
Sarah, trimming the 'chute (go fast sail)
Roland taking his turn at trimming the spinnaker.  We had a chute of some kind up for almost the entire race.
SPONGE-ROD!!! Roddy kept things on track, once you interpreted his Scottish!!!
Will trimming.  Don't know what's keeping those shorts up!
Ian shares a happy moment in the foreground.

And the most important person of all, LARRY, as he steers us acoss the finish line!!  Thanks, Larry!

PHOTO OP!!!   Dave takes a turn on the wheel with the Mac bridge in the background.
Matt on the helm as we approach the Mackinac Island Bridge.
